Naturally grown, sustainably packaged: our vision of a green future from cultivation to your home

Today, our world is characterized by globalization, industrial agriculture and monocultures. The constant striving for increasing efficiency and economic growth accompanies us and it seems as if traditional farming methods and the connection to natural creation are gradually being forgotten. Even though it is certainly in our nature to develop and progress, this constant demand for optimization comes at the expense of the environment, diversity and sustainability.

In the course of this madness for "higher, faster, further", the pay of smaller, traditional farmers in Germany is falling more and more.

On average, the domestic farmer receives just 22 cents from one euro. In the 1970s, things were different: a whopping 50% of the sales revenue went to the producer.

Our A-3 is harvested and bottled exclusively by certified producers and in accordance with the highest quality standards in Germany.

We attach great importance to above-average remuneration. Although the annual mugwort grows excellently in Germany, many companies source their goods from low-wage countries such as China or India in order to increase their profit margin.

Therefore: Help us to maintain ethical and sustainable agriculture - away from mass production and towards a sustainable, ecological and responsible way of doing business. This is a huge task and we can only achieve it together.

That's why in this article we want to give you an insight into the values and guidelines we follow in our production cycle - from cultivation to the finished product on your shelf. Join us on the journey of Artemisia annua anamed (A-3) and learn how tradition and sustainability accompany our every step - for a product that not only fully meets your expectations, but also does something good for the planet

1. cultivation - from seed to plant in harmony with nature

In the conventional cultivation of many plants, synthetic substances such as artificial fertilizers and pesticides are usually used. These are intended to protect the plants from pests and guarantee a high yield, but leave numerous traces on the plant and soil.

However, our highest principle is to maintain a gentle agriculture, in which people, animals and plants are involved with equal respect. In this way, we contribute to the health of our planet. That is why our process begins with the traditional cultivation of our plants, in which we follow numerous guidelines. This means that we...

  • ... use only natural plant protection products
  • ... do not use any easily soluble mineral fertilizers and pay attention to the careful use of all fertilizers
  • ... do not use any genetically modified microorganisms
  • ... pay attention to the optimum light and water conditions when cultivating our plants. This is the only way we can guarantee the bright green color and the full content of ingredients.
  • ... always cultivate our plants away from any roads and industrial landscapes, on perfectly fertile, nutrient-rich soil

2nd harvest - manual labor for unadulterated purity

We, on the other hand, still rely on a traditional harvesting process. This means that we do not use any harvesting machines and our plants are harvested by hand. Even the careful stripping of the leaves - the part of the plant with the most valuable ingredients - is still done by hand.

3. drying and processing - gentle and careful for maximum ingredient concentration

After harvesting, the leaves undergo a pre-drying process in the drying cabinet for 24 hours. They are then gently dried completely in the oven at below 40°C, which preserves all the ingredients.

The carefully dried leaves are then processed into leaf cuttings or leaf powder under laboratory conditions.

Drying in the drying cabinet

It goes without saying that we do not use any processes in which our plants are exposed to ionizing radiation for preservation.

In addition, all our products are tested at regular intervals by independent institutes in laboratory tests to certify their quality. Here, the products are checked for heavy metals, germs, mold and salmonella in particular.

4. packaging - quality products in environmentally conscious packaging

Once the Artemisia annua has been sufficiently dried and processed into leaf cuttings or leaf powder, it is time for packaging. The dried plants are now carefully filled into small bags in our manufactory. These bags are stored in large barrels in a dark, dry place until they are shipped. This ensures that the plants retain their many valuable ingredients.

We always follow the ZERO-WASTE principle for our packaging. This means that our packaging is either completely recyclable or can be incinerated without leaving any residue. This means that they are free of any aluminum and PVC and are incinerated without releasing toxic fumes and gases.

In addition, you can reuse the PE bags we use up to 20 times for other purposes and then return them to the recycling cycle with a clear conscience.

5. shipping - pure nature directly to your home

As soon as you have clicked the "Order" button in our online store, we take the desired bag directly from the light-protected drum and place it in a brown, light-protected shipping box . We usually send this the very next day so that the shipment reaches your home within 2 to 3 working days. Of course, we will provide you with all the necessary tracking updates during shipping so that you can sit back, relax and look forward to your Artemisia annua parcel.

We are convinced that you will not find a comparable level of naturalness and high quality standards anywhere else. This is because we always ensure that we have complete control over every step of the process - from sowing and harvesting to processing and packaging. Only in this way is it possible for us to offer you a reliable all-round carefree package from a single source.

Our Artemisia annua anamed (A-3) : Special features and advantages

Artemisia annua anamed (A-3) is a special creation of annual mugwort that is only available from teemana and has numerous benefits for you. These include:

  • It has an above-average yield of leaves. This is particularly valuable as the leaves are the part of the plant with the highest content of artemisinin and other valuable ingredients.

It is a pure, natural plant species based exclusively on traditional plant breeding - without any genetic modifications

What should I look out for when buying Artemisia annua products?

Now let's take another look at the features you should consider when buying Artemisia annua products:

  • Bright green color: The intense, powerful green of Artemisia annua products shows that the plant has been cultivated under optimal conditions and has a high content of valuable ingredients.
  • Pure leaf cut : As the Artemisia annua leaves are the part of the plant with the highest content of ingredients, it should be a pure leaf cut without stems or other parts of the plant.
  • Regional cultivation: The cultivation and quality standards as well as the quality of the soil vary from country to country. In order to avoid high levels of harmful substances, the Artemisia annua product should ideally be cultivated regionally in Germany and under natural conditions.
  • Realistic price: Cultivating Artemisia annua under these conditions often requires a great deal of effort, as many processes have to be carried out manually - which naturally costs a lot of energy and time. It is therefore hardly surprising that the higher the quality, the higher the price. For comparison: a field worker in Germany earns around 100 times as much as a picker in north-east India. For the price we pay our German farmers for 1 kilo of A-3 production, we would get 150 kilos of (brown) wild produce from Asia.

Conclusion

We hope that this article will give you a comprehensive picture of our guidelines and principles. It is our sincere wish to inform you, our valued customers, about our high quality requirements and standards. By purchasing from teemana, you are not only supporting a small family business, but also making a valuable contribution to the preservation of our environment.
