What does "teemana quality" mean?
Our guidelines and our vision:
Development partnership: alternative - sustainable - responsible - global - controlled - conscious of creation
It is important to us that our customers have confidence in our products - especially because we regard you as partners in our work! We would like to present some of the cornerstones of our activities:
Development partnership: If Africa sells goods to Europe today, prices are at rock bottom - worse than in some times of slavery. That is why, for example, we do not buy Moringa in Tanzania by paying 10 or 20% more than the local market value, but 3000% (thirty times). Only in this way can our growers and harvesters there send their children to schools that deserve this word.
Alternatively: teemana is also a philosophy: to produce goods in such a way that our world can exist for millions of years to come.
Sustainable: We want to promote small farms in Germany and encourage sustainable agriculture. One example: Artemisia is also kindly grown and harvested together by some church congregations in Germany. With the proceeds, we can in turn support development aid projects of our partners in Africa and Asia.
Responsible: teemana quality means that the producers personally known to us only produce goods that are:
- exposed to non-ionising radiation for preservation
- not produced by and with genetically modified organisms
- not produced with the use of synthetic pesticides
- not produced using easily soluble mineral fertilisers
Global/controlled: The import of raw materials and products from third countries is strictly regulated in Europe . In addition, for plant products, crop rotation (two-, three- and four-field farming) should be diversified.
teemana, however, has higher standards. We want to operate a tender agriculture, respectfully involving people, animals and plants. Thus we contribute a little bit to the health of our earth.
Creation Conscious: God's Word says in the Bible, Hosea 4:6: "My people are perish because of a lack of knowledge." So can there be a solution? We want our work to be a building block of God's solution for Africa, so that the "begging bowl of the world" can be transformed into the "breadbasket of the world". Help us, no matter what continent you live in, to preserve creation by growing and using truly sustainable and ethical products.
